Happy Birthday to Nemesis2420 .
"Found it," the Mouse replied rather crossly: "of course you know what 'it' means."
"I know what 'it' means well enough, when I find a thing," said the Duck: "it's generally a frog or a worm.
The question is, what did the archbishop find?" |

"Speed up your game" by Xarfax |
2004-04-17 |
|
|
This is a quote from the Heroes Community :
"Hi,
in the link u can find a little txt.file which will make your combats and there your game faster, and reduce your online time by 1 hour if u play 1o1 and about 2 hours if u play 2o2. Simply copy it in your heroes-data folder.
Have fun with it!
Xarfax1
http://www.drachenwald.net/goodies/Cranim.txt PS: Only works with SOD english.
PPS: Sorry Cheaters, u cant cheat with it. "
it seems there are can be some problems with downloading so we added a mirror for a .zip file It's simply great and as it says it can bring to h3 exactly what it lacked most, speed in multiplayer games.

Heroes like MMORG |
2004-04-12 |
|
|
This is not a won heroes 3 subtournamnet but a stand alone game.
It will be a php game ( utopia like ) and it will be like heroes 3 .
Here's what i have in mind :
- you get a terrain and a town like in heroes 3 .
- you will have maximum 3 heroes
- you won't move your heroes with a mouse click because you can't even see the heros . You will have options for each one : Caitlin can take the woodmine in 3 hours for example.
The best part is that it will be 3 hours in reallife too, so u can log on after 3 hours and tell caitlin to do something else or u can give her a more complex command to keep her ocupied for a couple of days.
-
you can build in the town like in the real game and you can even see your town.
- the game will be interactive so u will fight another players ( we will make sure we have a world map which is eenough for thousands of players )
- the battle will be done in autocombat of course.
- once u take anothers player town u can't use it for troops but only for economy.
If u have something to say about it here it will be a good place :). |

For Random Addicts |
2004-02-13 |
|
|
Explorers is probably the most competitive Heroes of Might And Magic 3 random subtournament 3 available :
1. Point system :
W = winner points before the game
L = loser points before the game
the winner gets 21 + (L-W)/25 and the defeated loses the same amount of points which cannot be below 2 points or above 41.
2. The rules are:
- any random map goes;
- we DON'T encourage any rules
- however we will post a set of very common rules here so you can easily refer to it as the the "Explorer Rules".
No fly/dd, wings, carto, grail, hillfort, diplo/wk of xxx joiners, red day 1 attack, avoiding misplaced guard.
Restart: no road, wood/ore mine blocked, heroes meet wk 1, start hero not lvl 1

The Friendly Games |
2004-02-07 |
|
|
One step forward for the WON subtournaments system.
We know many of the guys play friendly games, so we thought of a posibility to keep track of this games .
We put another option to the tournament reporting list called "Friendly".
That means that if you report this way it will be non-rated (your wins, losses, points won't change ) but you can still get the cash ( 100 per game ) and you have the chance to make some nice comments about the game which will be kept in your games history.

Templates Reporting |
2004-02-03 |
|
|
We included the templates name in the reporting system. From now on it will look like : ex . BlockBuster (Random ) .
We know we had to do that earlier but what a heck, better later then never :).
Oh yeah, and now we are currently thinking of a team based tournament but we don't know what you prefer, land control, clans/ tribes style etc.
We would really love to hear ideas from you. Please post them here. The idea we will make will get a medal of WON colaborator ( we are curently working at the medals :) )

King Of The Race implemented |
2004-02-01 |
|
|
We finnaly implemented the KOAR engine :).
It works very simple just find the king of each race and challenge him ( playing that race's town ). Remember to choose the Kings Of The Race tournament from the drop down list.
We had to start from somewhere so we awarded the medals to the following players :
If the king succesfuly defends his medal he gets a reign point which will be shown near the medal picture.
Of course this is fully automated and you may found some bugs.
If u do find them please post them here .
*special thanks to UnderTaKeR(www.ashlanders.com) for the great job with this medals.

Weekend update: New info |
2003-10-26 |
|
|
Its time for the weekly weekend update as usual, and we at the WON team hope that you've had a nice weekend.
We have made two new pages with information this week, new player info and
old player info. Please check these out if you are not 100% sure about how to play with WON.
We also would like to point out that you can reach your detailed game-by-game playing history by clicking your spellbook on the heroes profile. This includes comments from you and your opponent, as well as what town and hero you used, the date, who won, and the map that was used. We hope that years from now, this will be a treasured history archive to look back upon, and seeing how far our heroes playing has come. |

Homm3 player put in WON Hall of Shame |
2003-10-19 |
|
|
The World Online Nation security team regrets to inform you that a player has been removed from the WON Heroes 3 tournament today. We found that he had 2 accounts; The King, and Kill you, and had been reporting 3 random large games against himself within 20 minutes time. The evidence was clear on this issue, and because of the double account in combination with the fake reports, we decided to put him in the hallofshame page and add him to the list of banned players. This was handled by the WON design team for the moment, but we will try to put together a security team soon, and there is always the option to appeal to the Heroes Senate. To all the good players out there playing a fair game, we wish you good luck, and have fun.

Reporting loss |
2003-10-16 |
|
|
Reporting loss on WON is a bit different than on ToH or ww. Heres how to do it: 1. Wait for opponent to report win. 2. Read the win report and click accept, to report loss. There is no way to report loss first. You have to wait until your opponent has reported his win, then click report, and accept your loss. The advantage of this system is that there is alot lower risk of games ending up on the unreported list forever, and forgotten. We hope that it's not too much of a change from ww and ToH, and wish you Good luck in the games! :) |

Experience Rush Artifacts Merchant completed |
2003-10-15 |
|
|
The Artifacts Merchant for the Experience Rush tournament has been completed. :) You can now use the gold from the gold bet tournament and the gameplay to buy artifacts that provide out of game bonuses for the experience and gold stats. The artifacts and the other bonuses will *not* be used ingame, until the season finale, when the experience will be used as a starting bonus in "The Reckoning" games, to find the ultimate winner of the WON season.
The stats in short:
Experience: You get 500 basic experience per win, 0 per loss
Gold: you get 100 per game, and can wager the gold in the Gold Bet tournament.
Attack: When you win, you recieve a bonus experience of 10% per attack point of the "sum" of the rating point increase that a player has gained from the basic WON points start for recruits (people start with sum: 0 and then it goes up when their ratings go up. The #1 player of WON has about 850 in sum now).
Defence: You recieve a bonus experience of 3% of the opponents sum per defence point when you lose.
Knowledge: You recieve 25 bonus experience per knowledge point per game played.
Power: You recieve 10% more gold from regular games per power stat, *not* from Gold Bet wagers.
Note: Artifacts are sold back at *half price* so think before you buy :)
If you have any questions about this tournament, please register for the forum and post them there.
Good luck in the games! |

New Town/Hero reporting feature |
2003-10-12 |
|
|
We have added the feature to include Main Hero and Main Town when you report
games. This will provide an even more detailed game history, and might even make
some nice stats on Towns/Heroes possible
We have also made the gold bet tournament automatically check for bets between you and your opponent when you report a game, so you wont have to select it anymore. Just make a bet before playing, and it will work as when you selected Gold Bet in the past.
Hope you will like it. Good luck in the games, and have fun. |

Weekend Update - Experience Rush Subtournament |
2003-10-11 |
|
|
It's time for the weekend news update!
There are lots of things going on right now with WON, although its probably not
showing. So we would like to tell you alittle about what we are up to.
We are working on a subtournament called "Experience Rush", where you have
a hero (non-specific), and each win gives your hero new experience. You will be
able to use the gold won from the Gold Bet subtournament to buy "ouf-of game"
artifacts for this hero, that modifies the experience and gold gained when you
win or lose an Experience Rush Game. Swords and attack gives you more experience
when you win. Shields and Defence provide some protection against losing,
manifested in that you get a minor experience gain when losing if you have
defence. Knowledge slightly increases the overall experience you gain per game,
win or lose, and Power increases the gold you win per game.
These artifacts will be possible to buy in an automated artifacts merchant that
we are working on, and will show on your WON heroes profile.
The
experience will be automatically updated and adjusted when you play, according
to the artifacts you have equipped. And in the end of the season, at the final
stand "The Reckoning", you will be able to call your hero down to earth
and play with him in the game itself, as the master players of Heroes III
battle it out in the fight for the Prize
and
the WON season win. The artifacts will never be used inside games, but the
experience will be available in a pandoras box outside the starting town in "The Reckoning" games.
We expect the Experience Rush subtournament to be completed within a week, and probably even sooner. We will most likely provide people with retroactive
experience for their wins at that time, so you can probably start playing for
experience now, although it wont show on the profile until we complete the
automation and design.
Because of the competitive nature of tournaments in general, and on the request
of players, going for the win focusing on attack will provide alot more
experience than going for a defensive strategy. The medium skilled
player may want to focus on knowledge, as it provides an overall boost to
experience gained, wheter you win or lose. And finally, if you want to be rich
as a troll, you might want to consider going for the power, and rowing in the
win on superior equipment. There is a variety of strategies to be used to boost
your heros abilities, but in the end, it will come down to skill. However, the
route you chose to reach your goal, is up to you.
Good luck in the games!.. and dont lose your head.

Reporting games explained |
2003-10-07 |
|
|
We could have been more clear on how to report games, so here is a detailed explaination:
Reporting a game is alittle different on WON Heroes III than it is on MaH or WW.
If you're new to WON please read this description on how reporting works.
Log in on the page
Winner (only winner first) clicks "report game" and reports a win. Its not
possible to report a loss before the opponent have reported his win.
When someone has reported a win against you, the page will say "You have 1
unreported game". Then you can click that 1, or click report game. The win
report from the opponent will turn up, and after reading it to make sure its
correct, you can accept loss if you indeed did lose, or reject the report if you
didnt lose.
If loss was accepted, the game will be added to the WON database of games, and
ratings will change accordingly.
If the winreport was rejected, the win report will go back to the one who
reported win, so that he can look at it. You can also include comments.
He can then chose to re-report win with correct info, or chose to drop the
report, or to submit a dispute.
Dont forget to be polite to your opponent, because thats one of the best ways to
get more games played

News about the WON launch |
2003-10-03 |
|
|
Things have been going well since the launch 2 days ago. Lots of respected
players have signed up already, and some have even started playing.
The WON Heroes III senate is starting to take form and will hopefully be a
useful tool to lead Heroes into the future.
For the players that have signed up, there are a few things that we would like
to tell you about.
- To appear on the WON ranking and be able to report games, you should
a) confirm the registration by clicking the email link in the welcome
letter and b) Log in to this site, wich will create your Heroes III
profile and enable game reporting
- Since we are starting up we are giving people the opportunity to copy
their WW, MaH and HL rank to the WON database, so that the rating
simulations for those tournies start out where you acually are, in level of
playing skill.
To ask us to do this, please send us a mail by clicking the "contact us"
link on the top right of this page. Please include your nickname in those
tournaments for when we check the points.
- When you join WON Heroes you get 2 profiles: one with your ratings,
games played and so on, for Heroes III, and one with your personal member
information: Name, country, email and other optional things like
description, avatar, and instant messangers. To change this member profile,
you can click the white "profile" link on the top right of this page when
you are logged in.
If you have other questions, please ask us on the forum or send a mail. We
appreciate hearing about all the bugs we missed, because thats really the only
way to fix them. |

Uploading custom avatars |
2003-10-03 |
|
|
We have automated the site to allow you to upload and select your own custom avatar if you should wish to. To do this, log in on the forum and select "upload avatar". Then log in to the WON Heroes III site and click "profile" and then "Browse Gallry" and select the avatar you uploaded from the "reserved" category. |

inviting all the heroes players from all the tournies to join us here at WON to

Bringing Heroes of Might & Magic III alive again
|
2003-07-01 |
|
|
The core idea of the WON heroes III site is to bring Heroes III back alive. Alot of people have left, and we want to make sure theres always a place you can call home. We believe the way to save Heroes III is to stand together instead of spreading out, and rather than try to get everyone to join one of the existing tournaments, we felt it would work better to create a neutral, new one, with the main purpose to revive this great game. Please read the full version on the Visions page. |
